• Range is the difference between the greatest and least values in a set of data.

                                  

Examples of Range

• The range of the data set 2, 5, 6, 4, 1, 8, 7, 9, 4 is 9 – 1 = 8.

Solution:

Step 1: Maximum height = 165

Step 2: Minimum height = 151             [Range = maximum height - minimum height.]

Step 3: Range = 165 - 151 = 14
